This Cookie Policy explains how Onnies ("Onnies", "we", "us", "our") uses cookies and similar technologies when you visit www.onnies.app (the "Service"). It should be read alongside our Privacy Policy, which explains how we handle personal data more broadly.
1. What cookies are
Cookies are small text files that a website places on your device to store information. They are widely used to make websites work, or work more efficiently, and to provide reporting information. "Similar technologies" include local storage, session storage, pixels, and SDKs that achieve the same purpose.
Cookies can be first-party (set by Onnies) or third-party (set by a service we use, such as our authentication provider). They can also be session cookies (deleted when you close the browser) or persistent cookies (kept for a defined period).
2. Categories of cookies we use
2.1 Strictly necessary cookies
These cookies are required for the Service to function. They cannot be switched off in our systems. They are usually only set in response to actions you take, such as signing in, setting your privacy preferences, or filling in forms. Without them the Service will not work properly.
2.2 Functional cookies
These cookies enable enhanced functionality and personalization, such as remembering your preferred language, theme, or filter settings. If you disable them, some features may become less convenient.
2.3 Analytics cookies
These cookies help us understand how visitors interact with the Service by collecting and reporting information in aggregate. We use this to improve product quality, fix issues, and measure feature adoption. We do not use analytics cookies to build advertising profiles or to sell data.
2.4 Marketing cookies
We do not currently use marketing or advertising cookies. If this changes, we will update this policy and request your consent before any such cookies are set.
3. Cookies we set
The table below lists the main cookies and similar technologies used on the Service. Exact cookie names and durations can change as we update our software; this table reflects our current setup.
| Name / pattern | Provider | Purpose | Category | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|---|
sb-*-auth-token | Supabase (first-party) | Keeps you signed in and refreshes your authenticated session. | Strictly necessary | Up to 1 year (refreshed on use) |
sb-*-auth-token-code-verifier | Supabase (first-party) | Secures the OAuth / magic-link sign-in handshake (PKCE flow). | Strictly necessary | Session |
onnies-theme / local storage | Onnies (first-party) | Remembers UI preferences such as theme and saved filters. | Functional | Up to 1 year |
| Vercel platform cookies | Vercel (first-party via our domain) | Load balancing, security, and abuse prevention for the hosting platform. | Strictly necessary | Session to 1 year |
| Aggregate analytics identifiers | Onnies / privacy-conscious analytics | Measures page views, feature usage, and conversion funnels in aggregate. No cross-site tracking. | Analytics | Up to 13 months |
4. How we ask for your consent
Strictly necessary cookies do not require consent. For non-essential categories (functional, analytics) we rely on the legal basis applicable in your region:
- EEA, UK, and similar regions: we ask for your consent through a cookie banner before setting non-essential cookies. You can change your choice at any time using the cookie settings link in the footer.
- Other regions: non-essential cookies may be set on a legitimate-interests basis, subject to your right to object and any local law requirements.
5. How to control cookies
- In Onnies: use the cookie settings link in the footer (where available in your region) to change your preferences.
- In your browser: most browsers let you block or delete cookies, or warn you before they are set. See the help pages of Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and Edge for instructions.
- Industry tools: general opt-out tools such as Your Online Choices (EU) may help with broader advertising preferences, although Onnies does not currently use advertising cookies.
Blocking strictly necessary cookies will break sign-in and other core features. Blocking analytics or functional cookies is safe but may degrade the experience slightly.
6. Do Not Track
Some browsers send a "Do Not Track" signal. Because there is no consistent industry standard for how to interpret this signal, the Service does not currently respond to it. We rely on our cookie settings and regional consent rules instead.
7. Changes to this policy
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time. When we make material changes we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and, where required, request your renewed consent.
